The WPC is the governing body and has set the standard for safe wireless charging, giving it the brand name of Qi (pronounced chee). Many manufacturers have adopted the standard including Samsung, LG, Siemens and most recently Apple. Today there are over 100 compatible devices and the list grows daily.
Many wireless charging products and accessories are readily available today, but with growing popularity also comes the influx of fake, DANGEROUS wireless charging products.
Products using the Qi standard must be tested rigorously to help ensure safety, interoperability and energy efficiency.
Only products that have passed these independent laboratory tests can use the Qi logo and are considered “Qi Certified.” Be cautious of claims of “Qi compliant,” “Qi compatible” or “Works with Qi,” as these may indicate a product has not undergone Qi certification testing.
